Even though I don't have any photo's due to them being camera-shy, we have two Beautiful Feathered friends here with our Cockatiel named Raffles and our Lilac coloured budgie named Lily.
Raffles being the eldest, I have had him for about 7 or 8 years now and generally, he is very happy, but not too friendly, or hand tame, which is much to my regret and despite trying since getting him.
Raffles got his name after a committee meeting just a day or two after buying him and where fund-raising was discussed and the subject of raffles came up. As I was wondering what to call him, so I took the name Raffles. Raffles has a Very nasty nip if he gets the chance to, but very rarely does it to me.
Lily who we have had about six months or more now, got her name because of her colouring. We had a green budgie called Billy for a few years and before he Very sadly had a massive stroke in early December 2006, then dying in my hand as I cradled him. I knew it was his time to go and still to this day, miss him very much, yet still Love Lily who we have been told could either go blind, or die at a young age due to some very minute mites that have somehow got to her and she sadly has like a crust where feathers should be on the face. I can stroke Lily and will certainly miss her if she goes.
