Thanks Jen. I must get over to KCAA again and post some more up there, haven't done so in quite a few weeks now, so it is about time.

I finally managed to get a picture of the huge butterfly that visits our garden every day. Sorry it is not a good pic but the beauty didn't sit still long enough to get a better one.

Lovely flutterbys Sis. Isn't that one on the Plumbago a Scarce Swallowtail which I have here?

I would guess that it is a Swallowtail, Sis, but if it is a scarce one, I couldn't say. I'm not good at ID-ing butterflies, think I could perhaps ID three. That is TL's line, he is a whiz at such. Haven't seen him for a while though, hope all is OK there, do you know?

There are quite a few of these about of late. Seem to be the same sort that Peter photographed recently, and I was amazed to see that the wings are orange on top - Name edited in - Gulf Fritillary or Passion Butterfly, Agraulis vanillae

I caught this Gulf Fritillary or Passion Butterfly, Agraulis vanillae asleep on the Arizona Cedar just as it was getting dark last evening. It woke up, flew off and looked for a quieter place to sleep after just one photo.
