It looks lovely Keddi.

Thanks DAG and Tamarine.
It does make a big difference if you have the vine in the Wintergarten like we do, or outside like you do, Tamarine.
Ours was a young sapling when we planted it in 1989, a year after we had the Wintergarten built. Of course, it then took several years to grow and bear properly.

Nothing like picking your own grapes, mine is on the allotment and I have a lot of people who come just to admire them and see how the grapes are progressing. They have already tasted my blueberries.

I didn't know you had blueberries, too, Tamarine. You never fail to amaze me with everything on your allotment. Bet you make yummy blueberry and apple pies

I have 3 pots of them and I get at least 1 lb of blueberries. They never hit the pies my sister and myself sit there eating them as they come ripe. Friends on the allotment also try them.

Wow.... how wonderful! I'm quite jealous too.
I've always just thought that growing and maintaining a grape vine would be too difficult.
Maybe I will gain a little courage and take a chance at it.
Lovely grapes Kedi ....... way to go!!!

Jeanne, one of our neighbours has grapes growing against a south-west facing wall. He was standing outside eating them just the other day. He said they were good, not as sweet as ours, but still better than a lot of the store-bought ones. I'm sure you could grow them very well over your way.
Ours are in our Wintergarten/conservatory. Mr K cuts them back to the few main bearing branches in the autumn, which run along the inner Wintergarten beams. As soon as the grapes are all off, then he cuts it all back, doesn't wait for the leaves to fall.
It's worth giving it a try. Oh, ours also faces south-west.
