Anyone grow potatoes in them, and if so, what is the crop like?

JC, growbags are too shallow for growing tatties , they need room to expand so you can use growbag mixture but put it in a tub or an empty large compost bag.
May be Vegmandan will throw some light on the matter.

About a foot to 18" deep you half fill it with compost, put your spuds in and when you see green leaves shoot up keep putting more compost. Repeat this untill you have reached the top of the pot or bag.
Hope this will help.

Oh I see, so you leave the potatoes sticking out a bit? Sorry to sound dense. I really want to do this, even id we get a small crop for a few weeks next year.
I wonder if there is a site with all the instructions on?

JC< you have to plant your potatoes 4"" to 5" deep, when you see green leaves pop up then put more soil or compost to cover the leaves altogether. Then when more leaves pop up do the same again untill the pot or bag is full. Try this site--- www.thegardenhelper.com/potato.html
