Keddi your yellow courgettes are much bigger than mine. The green courgettes are the same size as you yellow ones. Other guys on the plots have also small yellow courgettes must be the variety.

We have two yellow courgettes plants in the huge pots in the veggie patch, Tamarine. The other one seems to be a different type to the one this yellow courgette grew on. I did buy them at different times and in different shops.

One of our plot owners also have yellow courgettes as big as yours. I have been meaning to ask him where he had his seeds from.

Both of these are growing in our front driveway. Mr K just picked the courgette and I'm going to make a soup for lunch with it. Courgette, weighs 1163 gramme - Pumpkin on the vine, held up by an old planter bracket -

Tamarine - here is a pic of our beans that I told you about. They are really bumpy but very tasty. I'll see about getting some seeds off to you.

Well done Kedi for growing your own, things taste so much better when they are fresh and lets face it if you pick them yourself you really know how fresh they are!
Are you intending to have a go again this year and if so are you going to try something new as well as your old favourites?Hel.xxx.

I'll grow the runner/green beans, plus the courgettes and pumpkins for sure.
I might try some lettuce as I find it interesting that you can just pick some of the outside leaves off and it grows more!

Kedi, I doubt if it applies to all types of lettuce, but certainly the quick growing early types and sometimes states on the packet that they are 'cut and come again'. This type often comes in an assortment and includes 'Rocket', which we cannot stand.

Good thing you mentioned that, DAG!
While I was out this morning, I looked at the seeds and bought two different kinds of the quick growing early sorts. So, it will be fingers crossed when I sow them.
We tried Rocket last year but didn't have much luck with it. My cousin in England grows it every year in a pot and it does very well for her.

Rocket is about the quickest and easiest thing to grow from seed, surprised you have had problems with it?

Confessions coming up! I think it was our own fault. The first time Mr K sowed the seeds in a plastic saucer (like you stand pots on) and insisted that was just right and the way it was done. I think he confused them with Graden Cress. He said he didn't but ............... I sowed the next lot in a small planter and they sprouted. Unfortunately, Nasturtiums grew down and covered them up, so we both forgot about them. ;D
