Yes, I have various packets of seeds to try out, and although we don't have much luck with seeds, I always buy some to try.
I have been collecting empty kitchen and toilet rolls to plant the bean and courgette seeds in. I've read about it several times in various places and it seems to be a good tip, makes planting them out so much easier and there is no damage to the little roots. So as soon as I have unpacked, the next thing to do will be getting the seeds in before it gets too late.

I finally got my green beans in yesterday afternoon. The tip about planting seeds in empty toilet rolls was very good, it made planting them out so easy. I put 2 beans seeds in each roll.

I am only trying green beans this year, although the runner beans were good last year. Our neighbours said so too, they had to help us eat them.
You freeze a lot of your veggies, don't you, Tamarine?

I am still using last years' broadbeans, only a few packets left. Got to make way for this years' produce.

Our first yellow courgettes of the year will soon be ready for eating. These ones are in huge pots in the veggie patch - I'm really no good at sowing and growing seeds but I do try a couple of things every year. This year some green striped courgettes took my fancy and I think every one in the pack sprouted! Even after treating several neighbours to well-grown plantlets, we were still left with some so had to find a place to put them - along with some pumpkin plants. The one compost box was also full so I thought that they would look very nice out front in the driveway. Here they are - This is the large pumpkin - - and this is the Hoikaido pumpkin on the left and a green striped courgette on the right - The third pot with striped courgettes didn't turn out, shall take another pic tomorrow. Mr Kedi has put planter brackets on the fence to support them.

They are creamier and have a better texture, not so watery.
