I am going to try and start a few green bell pepper plants straight from the seeds.
Only one problem. I don't know much about gardening. can some one help me?
thanks, Chris

Hi,It's not hard at all.
What I wouldn't recommend though is planting the seeds you have collected from inside a pepper you've eaten as you won't necessarily get the same pepper when you grow them.
Buy a packet instead.
Basically you will need to sow the seed about 3-4 mm deep in compost, keep it quite warm and moist and it should germinate within a week or so.
Then just leave it to grow and pot it into a 6-9 inch pot when it's about 6 inches high.
They are painfully slow to grow initially but one they reach about 6 inches they really take off.
Some people cut off the top growing tip of the plant to promote side growth and a bushy habit but I personally just let them grow how they want to.
You'll need to stake it once it gets taller.
Once the flowers appear or when you have a few small fruit then you will need to feed with a Tomato fertilizer to get bigger fruits.
If you are having trouble getting fruit to form,i.e the flowers just drop off and no fruit appears then give the flowers a light spraying with water daily.
That's about it really.
Give it a go...
I've just seen that you're from florida, you'll be able to grow them all year round outside over there.
