Thanks DAG and Audrey. This is rhododendron and azalea country too, Audrey, they love the peaty soil. There is a rhododendron woods not far away, belongs to a nursery, and it is a lovely place to visit when everything is in bloom. Some of the old rhododendrons are huge, like you saw recently in Cornwall, DAG. A couple more pics - Wisteria - A couple of geraniums, the first one lives in the Wintergarten all year round. Aqueliga - Lupin - Lords & Ladies in the front and Hosta in the back -

Thanks jc and holysmokes. This is the only lupin we have this year. I love the two-coloured ones but they seem to have all disappeared from the garden. Did you know that if you cut the finished blooms off, they will bloom again this year, albeit not so big. Here are some pics I took this morning - Lupin (again!) - Petunia - Hanging Geranium - Two-coloured geranium - Dictamus -

Thank you mikkel. Last year we bought a 5-year old Cardiocrinum giganteum from a nursery where we had gone to see them in bloom. They were magnificent! Ours is blooming at the moment and I'd like to share it with you, at least the flowers if not the scent. Ours didn't get as tall as the ones we saw last year, but it is a good 150 cm, which isn't bad, and we are so pleased with it. Here are a couple of links if anyone is interested in reading about these wonderful lilies. www.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au/mount_t...inum_giganteumwww.dunngardens.org/summer/ca...giganteum.html

Thank you for the lovely compliment, mikkel, but no, I am just the thorns. A few more pics of the garden. These are over next to the water butt in the veggie patch - This is a huge Atlas Cedar that stands next to the pond and drops it's needles everywhere. This is on the Noble Fir (Abies procera glauca) -
