Your Rhubarb looks lovely Kedi, that reminds me I must get the mesh fixed to the field fence before the cows eat ours again

Do the cows eat only the rhubarb or also the leaves? The leaves are poisonous.

This one clump of Hosta in The Woodland is doing really nice and looks like it is spreading. The other clump, with a strip around the edge has about 3 leaves and is now doing nothing more. I thought I had a third kind but can't find it any more, so guess I have lost it. The Lords & Ladies is doing very well this year, too. The leaves grew almost twice as high as usual, the best of them is now over but the flowers are now blooming - This Rhododendron in The Woodland is showing off it's very first bloom. I bought 5 of them about two years ago from a very good nursery, they were obviously ones that hadn't done well or thinned out, and so they were pratically giving them away for only €1 per plant, the plants being a good meter tall. So I bought them and this year they have decided to grow and prove that they were worth saving.

This is the new bed on the edge of the upper patio. I first removed the green stuff, more moss than grass, then dug the patch over roughly. A few days later I finished getting the shape right, put the edging stones down loosely and then dug the whole thing over again, this time thoroughly. Then I put the two small red peach trees in, as well as a couple of large slabs, one rock and the other marble. That evening I moved a huge stone that was up against the house wall over to the corner of the new bed. It was no easy job as it must weigh well over 100 kilo. The next afternoon I finally managed to get it into the right position and also put the edging stones in properly. Yesterday I put a few left-over pansies in and a few small plants from the garden, also some decoration balls that were hiding under a shrub. I want to get a couple of mini evergreens, probably rhododendrons and a few other small things, then the bed will be completely finished.

Yes Kedi, I agree with DAG in hoping you didn't overdo it. I like the shape and the peach trees look as if they will be productive. I can also see your lovely Winterdarden, it brings back happy memories for us Arney
