Hi jc. I think some of this Winter Honeysuckle would look very good and cover up part of that great expanse of wooden fence. I posted it here -
Perhaps a few clumps of heather and ground-covering evergreens. Fill the rest up with colourful flowering plants in season.

The front is ready for planting. Again just a boarder. I have some twisted hazel near the house, and some other similar plant (forgot name LOL).
I will put some small shrubs at the front in the part that is the boarder between me and the neighbours. The house is detached but the gardens meet.
Hoping to put heather at the front. I love heather and lavender. I'll maybe put some honeysuckle nearer the house.

I should think that you probably get a fair amount of shade in those areas, so hostas and ferns would do very well in tubs and could help add some greenery, and you can plant bulbs in with the hostas for some colour when the hostas die down.
If you wipe vaseline or WD40 around the tubs, it keeps the slugs away, but don't let the plants touch the wall or the slugs will bridge it.
Looks very nice so far, nice job!Re: Patio - no Garden
