That is awesome i only caught one last year hope to do better this year but mine wasnt brightly coloured..Wait till kedi sees this as she likes taking photos of these lovely insects..
I had trouble seing mine as well my other half kept saying its their and i couldnt see it..eventually i caught it.

Well done, Tamarine, that is a fantastic photo! We have the same in our garden but I've never been lucky enough to get such a wonderful photo of one. I am sure it is a female Southern Hawker, the males are blue. Here is a good link about them - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_Hawker |
