Those are just what Ann's looking for, ;D she made Rosehip Syrup last week and wants to make more. It's a real taste of childhood.

Now that's a great subject. I love it!
It looks like a very healthy rose. The leaves look perfect.... no rust, or black spot ... two troubles I often have with my roses...

Thanks Alfie, DAG, Linda and Jeanne. I've never made Rosehip syrup or jam, but I do quite like the latter, it is more of a spread that a jam. You might have rust and black spot on the leaves of your roses, Jeanne, but we don't have any leaves. Something eats them up every year and we end up with leafless roses. BTW, the pics were taken last August when DAG and Arney came over to visit us in Germany. If I remember correctly, these were taken in Bad Zwischenahn, a spa not far from Oldenburg, where we live.

Rosehip syrup..... Now that brings back a few memories with the family scouring the countryside for fresh rosehips shortly after the first frost if I remember correctly. Then the whole family (there was 7 of use) would clean them and mum would turn them into syrup and jelly...wonderful.
