Lovely pics, Jeannerené. Redwoods are such beautiful trees, magnificent, in fact. And to have them in your local park - lucky you We saw them in real about 15-16 years ago when we toured around the States a bit with our son. We visited Yosemite National Park and saw them there. I even collected a whole load of the cones to bring home. Unfortunately, Mr K and K junior made me leave most of them there, I was only permitted to bring four. They took up all of the space in K junior's hardshell suitcase. At least, I got them all home safely ;D

Thanks guys.... I guess I take these wonderful trees as just an everyday site. They are not only in the local parks, but scattered through out the city of San Jose. My sister has three in her yard and they are bigger they the ones pictured here. She also has lovely burl on each of the trees. One of her redwoods is in her front yard and many times she has had offers from people wanting to buy the burl. There is probably enough burl to make a few good sized end tables. We live near the foot of the Santa Cruz mountains and there are giant redwoods there.... but not as giant as those that you would find at Yosemite. But there are redwoods up and down California...... though I'd say more in Northern California than Southern. I'll take a couple of pictures of my sister's. Also went I went to Hakone Gardens I got a couple of pictures of the redwoods there. I'll have to go to Santa Cruz and get some pictures of the giants.............
