This Datura is now about chest-high and is blooming constantly. I've already collected some seeds for anyone who wants them, and more are being produced all the time. Not only is the flower beautiful, but the black stem sets it all off.

That's lovely Sis. Mine too has a black stem (which I initially thought meant it was dying) and I only noticed a couple of days ago that the flowers are lightly scented!

Sis, I wonder if you did take up your double as mine was a fluffy double last year but look at it now. I think it may be like Hibiscus hybrids that they revert back and forth. Just a thought ... Well, the sun decided not to come out today to play so I took some pics in case torrential rain hits and all the blooms fall off. Here is my Brug with virtually no leaves because 1) removing them because of the diseased leaves and 2) something has decided to eat what new ones are coming ... I just love the tutu effect of the blooms, seven open and one more to do so ... And the Datura having completely recovered being stripped down is thriving but it's not a ruffled as previous years ...

No, Sis, ours has completely disappeared as there is not a sign of it where it was last year. I think we pulled it up inadvertently when we weeded this bed as it was completely overgrown. No chance of it ever coming back as the bed was dug over and now I have my rockery there. Yours looks exactly like mine, just smaller since it is in a pot. Just love the second pic of your tutu Brugmansia Two of the cuttings Peter took of the kids Brugmansia over here rooted, so hopefully we'll get a nice big plant like they have. I think it is about the same colour as yours.
