Thanks, Char.
Our first pond was very small too, even the smallest one can look nice and attract frogs and insects. I've seen pictures where people have used half barrels for mini ponds that can be put on the patio or even a balcony. and they looked very pretty.

Small ponds still attract frogs my pond had more than 12 frogs heads poking up last year plus tadpoles swimming around..it was bursting at the seams ..

This was our pond yesterday morning, so if the frogs had turned up, they would have needed their ice-skates!

I bought this frog on a flea-market in Bradenton, Florida for only $1, batteries included. When you walk by in front of it, it croaks three times. Hubby had a fit when we got home and he discovered what he had carried in his hand luggage the whole way home! Our next-door neighbour tells it to shut up. This little fat one was hidden in a crack on the lower patio the other day. It is different to the ones we usually have. Mating red damselflies -

Some more mating red damselflies - This one is still solo - This pic is unclear, the water is rather murky at the moment. So, look closely and you can see a dragonfly larve that has caught a pond insect. An island in our pond. It has been growing for a couple of years, Hubby was going to remove it but never did as the newts like to go on it. A nice fern at the side of the pond -

Thank you, JC. I just wish the water would clear up again, then I could see more of what is going on.

Wow .... I'm in love with your pond. All the plants and vegetation are wonderful and it looks completely as if it is one you could discover in the middle of the woods...
Exactly what I would like my pond to look like ...
