Lovely pics Kedi, love the red dragon fly.. It is a damselfly. The way to tell the difference is by the thickness of the body, and the way the wings lay against the body.

Interesting. I'd never heard of damselfly until now. Well I think I have seen them, but thought they were dragons.

This poor dragonfly was obviously injured. He was over at our neighbours and you could pick him up. After taking some photos, we put him out in the sunshine, where he perked up. Later on he was gone, so hope he lives for some time yet to fly around our ponds. Male Southern Hawker -

I found this pair of dragonfly wings in the garden yesterday. I think they belonged to a Southern Hawker.

Dragonflies .... its always so fun to just watch. Love all these shots. The two red ones on the leaf ....... great picture.... The yellow pyramid at the top of this page is great. Makes me feel as if I'm getting a peek at another world. .j.

My first photo I was actually able to capture one of these things and on a Gnome in our front garden last week. Sorry it wasn't closer though. Still, it looks like the Gnome has become a member of the Army! ;D
