I have corrected the name of the flower - it is Canna, not Calla. Sorry about that!

A beautiful picture, Linda. And, no, I don't mind you posting it here. (I see that you get them as mixed up as I do - these are Callas, not Cannas, ha-ha! Never mind, the two of us know what we mean and both are lovely flowers.)

I think if we all dropped the" lilly" bit it would help. Neither are lilly s:- cannas are just that, Cannas, and calla is Zantedeschia, an unfortunate name to pronounce, so calla is good, where the "lilly" bit comes from is a mystery.

Great idea, Pete! It does help unconfuse them, now I only have to remember which is which.

Sis, think of Cannas as those lovely colourful things that we all adore, multi flowers on one stem .... Callas are one to a stem, chalice like (usually white) that are popular at funerals.

That might work for me, Callas and chalice sort of rhyme and are cup like. Thanks Sis! xx

Surely Victoria its the true Lilly that is popular at funerals, or maybe its both.
But definitely not Cannas, not here anyway.

Pete, what flower did I start this thread off with - a Canna or a Calla??? If it is a Canna, then I have a new way to tell them apart. I am sure Sis means the chalice-like ones are the ones used at funerals. Not what I posted up.
