More from the Dales Countryside Museum and for mikkel, no the train is not in steam as it now forms part of the museum, the seats have all been taken out to form a very effective walk thro' display.

Hardraw Force
This is said to be the UK's longest single drop waterfall.
This is about as close as you can reasonably get and the constant spray was in my face so had to be quick with the camera.
I took some more pics down in this gorge and hope to be able to stitch them together in some kind of panorama, but I doubt if it will work as everything is so close.
The only safe way to get here was via a local pub where you had to pay to get onto the footpath, but it was well worth it.

Glad to see that the sun did come out now and then on your holiday.
That washing machine is interesting - but only to look at! Don't blame you, Arney, declining DAG's offer to buy you one.
Gad! what a lot of work to do the laundry, but no doubt it was a great improvement over just a tub of water. I don't think the Good Old Days were that good by our standards. But I do love looking at all of the things. (still have some of the Bradenton Historic Village to show at some future date).
I remember those clothes horses too, DAG. I think you can still buy them.

The footpath is completely in the private back garden of the local Inn and provided picnic tables and chairs along the way, I suppose about a quarter of a mile long and ending in this gorge. The charge was only £2 per head, which I thought was reasonable.
