 Loch on Rannoch Moor
« Thread Started on Feb 5, 2009, 11:41pm »

I took this on Rannoch Moor on our way back from our summer holidays on Skye (in November) about 12 years ago.

As we left Berwick on the Saturday it started to rain, by the time we got to Sterling it was a downpour and when we arrived at our cottage on Skye the rain was not coming down it was coming along as it was also blowing a gale. ;D ;D We heard on the radio on the Sunday morning that part of the road we travelled on had been washed away. ;D
It rained every day we were there except the Wednesday, (it snowed that day).
The only sunny day we had was the Saturday when we were on our way home. It may be hard to believe but we had a lovely holiday ;)

Alfie, we spent a week in Skye in 2006 and had reasonable weather all week apart from a thunder storm one day.

The journey up there and back was horrific and it rained the whole journey coming back.

Lovely photograph Alfie as always! ;)

I'm glad to hear you had a lovely holiday in spite of that awful weather, Alfie!

I just love that photo. Three distances all nicely combined and the mirroring in the lake is what catches the eye first. Brilliant shot!

A fantastic photo Alfie.

Berwick(2007) is the farthest north I've been since I went to Edinburgh when I was ten.

We would like to visit the Highlands but you really have to have the weather.

One funny thing that happened on our Skye holiday was as we drove along the coast road to Uig, I found I needed to go to the toilet it was pouring with rain and as we were in the middle of nowhere I stopped the car and got out. I just got to the back of the car when two people appeared over the hill ::) so I had to jump back into the car and drive on ( still desparate ) until we reached the site of Flora McDonalds memorial where there were toilets. I jumped out and ran to the toilet where I had to fight my way through the sheep that were sheltering in the doorway, by the time I got in I was soaked to the skin. ( I might as well have peed myself at least it would have been warm) ;D ;D
Ann Johnnie and Anns mum all roared with laugter ;)
